The Team

At Aquila, we employ a team of engineers covering a wide spectrum of engineering including automotive, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and structural. This gives us a broad perspective on providing solutions which are fresh and pragmatic. We also actively seek a wide age profile in the team and encourage ownership but with support.


Dave is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Nuclear Institute and was the MD of Gravatom Engineering Systems from the early 1990’s until it was sold in 2009. Dave was appointed as CEO at Aquila in 2011, following a 2 year non-compete period, by the parent company Calder Group. Dave’s mission for Aquila is to become the pinnacle of nuclear engineering solutions in the UK and nuclear medicines in Europe and further afield.

Drew Corbett

Commercial Director
With a background in engineering, Drew is ideally placed to promote the Aquila approach of providing innovative solutions in a safe way. Drew’s fundamental business development skills combined with his engineering years of experience have made him an integral component of Aquila.

John Adams

Engineering and Projects Director
John has over 20 years’ engineering project experience in a range of regulated industries. At Aquila, he heads up a dynamic team of project management professionals delivering turn-key solutions to a growing list of satisfied clients.

Elizabeth Wheeler

Finance Director
Elizabeth is an experienced Finance Director and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Having spent over 20 years working in finance and accounting roles within the mechanical and industrial engineering industry, Elizabeth leads Aquila’s finance team in ensuring accurate financial accounting, job costing and reporting data to support the successful delivery of Aquila’s engineering contracts.

Guy Coakley

Engineering Manager
Guy’s engineering career spans over 10 years within the nuclear industry, covering both civil and defence. He has led and delivered numerous multi-faceted projects including QC1 process plant and equipment, bespoke special purpose machinery and containment systems. Leading Aquila’s multi-discipline engineering team, he is responsible for the successful delivery of engineering projects, championing cost-effective and pragmatic solutions.

John Lodge

QHSE Manager
John is a member of the Chartered Quality Institute and is a Health and Safety, Quality Management and Compliance professional with experience of working in highly regulated industries. John’s role is to put quality at the heart of all processes, by driving improvement of the management system, and to support the health, safety and wellbeing of the Aquila team.
